With over 20 years of financial analysis, financial modeling, financial report creation, and internal auditing, I am well-suited to as the Treasurer of Mesa County.

Cybersecurity and data privacy threats continue to impact entities of every size. As a former internal auditor, I am well-practiced in risk analysis, process analysis, and risk mitigation. Additionally, my relationship with cyber training firms and local experts provides an unlimited wealth of knowledge that will protect county resources.
Report County Funds
Transparency regarding county funds is a given; the ability to communicate the financial health of various county entities requires years of experience. My 18+ years of simulation design and development has provided an unparalleled training ground for financial report creation and management. In addition to basic reports, I will work diligently with the finance department to ensure all county divisions as well as the public have what they need to make sound financial decisions.

Every dollar of interest generated (under the careful guidelines put forth by the state) is one less dollar of needed tax revenue. In addition to managing my own funds, I have designed and delivered Investment Management and Banking simulations that have allowed me to develop sharp investment management skills. In my current role, and for the past 18+ years, I have designed & delivered financial and business simulations that teach others how to manage financial statements and understand metrics specific to their industry.
Auditing Government Grants
While working for CARE USA, I was sent to countries in Africa, Asia, The Middle East and Latin America to ensure government funds were being spent efficiently and effectively.
Revenue & Expense Analysis
At the start of my career, I cut my teeth on expense and revenue analysis for Volvo Commercial Finance and The Home Depot. I continued this financial analysis work for CARE after my time as an internal auditor. I have also managed the revenue and expenses of my own consulting business for the past eight years (as well as lots and lots of tax filings...)

I was the youngest graduating member of my class at the Yale School of Management (a very long time ago...).
